Sorry if this gets a bit rambley, it's also 11.30pm when I'm writing this. 

My intention was for my next release to be the prequel to In Silence, titled The Colour of My Name. I'm six chapters into writing it, and I love the story and the character, however I've also been planning something completely different.  New characters, a whole new vibe, and I'm excited by the new story. It will be an M/F romance, no drama, no trauma, just two people falling in love and learning each other. I'm also concerned that by releasing the prequel next, I will be isolating potential new readers who either haven't read In Silence, or aren't interested in reading it. I won't be abandoning it completely, just right now I'm feeling pulled in the other direction towards the shiny new story. I adore the main character from In Silence, and the prequel is the story of his life from 13 to 18, but this early in my writing career, the last thing I want to do is pigeonhole myself, rather than show people what I can do as an author. I know that at the end of the day, I should always be writing what I want to write, and I am. I want to write something different, I want to get to know new characters, but I also don't want to abandon the characters that I already know and love. I may just end up writing both and see which one I finish first... I don't know.
